The Lucky Cat, or Maneki-Neko, symbolizes luck and prosperity in Japanese culture and is steeped in myth and legend. It's now famously known as a good luck charm, with its waving paw and coin representing "SEN MAN RYOU", meaning 10 million gold pieces for you. Traditionally, the Lucky Cat is placed near the front door to bring good luck into the house, but it can also be displayed on a shelf, desk, or sideboard.
