The Lucky Cat, or Maneki-Neko, symbolises luck and prosperity in Japanese culture and is steeped in myth and legend. It's now famously known as a good luck charm, with its waving paw and coin representing "SEN MAN RYOU", meaning 10 million gold pieces for you. Traditionally, the Lucky Cat is placed near the front door to bring good luck into the house, but it can also be displayed on a shelf, desk, or sideboard. And if you need a bit of extra luck in a certain area of your life, the colour of the Japanese talisman holds particular significance: Each shade of the lucky cat holds its own special meaning.
