The Heath boards are pre-treated with food-safe mineral oil, so you can start using them straight away. To maintain its condition and prevent splitting, we recommend oiling the board regularly with mineral oil or any kitchen oil (please note that strongly coloured oils might discolour the wood). The board will feel dry to the touch and will get lighter in colour when it needs oiling.

Wood can split when the air is really dry, and central heating will dry the air out.
It is best to keep the relative air humidity levels in your house between 40-50%. This will not only ensure the longevity of wooden products but will also be beneficial to your health. Keeping the air humidity at an optimal level will improve your breathing and sleep quality.

"As a design practice, we believe in designing products to last a lifetime, and their packaging to leave no trace. We use the finite raw materials we have on this earth wisely and hope that whoever purchases our product would enjoy it for years to come, and potentially pass it on to another generation. We ensure the packaging of our products has as little impact on the environment as possible. We are reducing box sizes, print use, removing single plastic use where possible, and using unbleached recyclable card."
