Risography
An eco-friendly artistic technique

Invented in Japan in the 1940s, risography is a layer-by-layer printing technology, by stencil, similar to screen printing, using direct tones, i.e. pure colors, with a bright and intense rendering.

Riso prints cold (meaning low energy consumption), on uncoated papers (less treated), with vegetable oil-based and solvent-free inks. The machine is partly made from recycled materials and all consumables are collected and recycled in partnership with the Conibi organization.

An environmentally friendly paper

All of Kiblinds risographs are printed on uncoated MUNKEN Print White 150g paper, made from ECF pulp, and certified FSC and PEFC.

  • MUNKEN Print White is a high-end, naturally white paper that combines the most interesting properties of wood-based and wood-free papers. It offers optimized bulk, strength, surface and printability for risograph printing. Its puffy appearance allows perfect absorption and luminous rendering of RISO inks, solvent-free and vegetable oil-based spot colors.
  • The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) is an international non-profit organization that promotes the responsible management of the world's forests. FSC certification indicates that the product comes from environmentally friendly, socially beneficial and economically viable sources.
